I specialize in photographing and filming stringed instruments. I work closely with collectors and collections, private and commercial, to produce studio and on-site multimedia products for the vintage market.
My work has appeared in magazines such as DownBeat and Jazziz. An interest in researching and documenting the visual history of the period of shellac pressings led me to this work. Much like sitting down to take in a 78 record, there is real pleasure to be found in slowly surveying and capturing the design or wood patterns of the sort of instruments these records feature, as well as spotlighting the collectors and institutions responsible for them.
I received my B.A. in Film Production from Emerson College and am a member of the Association for Recorded Sound Collections and the Guild of American Luthiers. I am based in Northern California.
